Sheriff Deputy, Garrett Ross with the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's office (pictured with Rotarian Dana Manchester) was the guest speaker this morning at our club.

He spoke to the Rotarians and guests about the home and car burglaries that are taking place in our surrounding cities.

Burglars are looking to break into houses that are left unlocked, garage doors left open, or windows not locked. They also look to break into cars looking for items like money, cell phones, wallets, purses, mail, and other items of value.

He emphasized how important it is to secure your home, apartment, townhouse, residence, and car. He recommended purchasing an alarm system with a camera from Home Depot, or another retailer. A system that is reputable and of good quality.

If you are on vacation or leave your residence for a period of time, have someone check your property and mail until you return.

These tips can help secure your property.

Our club and guests thank you for a very informative presentation.
