District Governor Savi Bhim, (pictured in the front), visited the Vandenberg Village Rotary Club and was our guest speaker during Friday morning’s meeting.

Savi mentioned that rotary clubs have been around for 115 years and stand by the four-way test questions.

1. Is it the Truth?
2. Is it fair to all concerned?
3. Will it build Goodwill and Better Friendships?
4. Will it be Beneficial to all concerned

This is a way to promote ethics and integrity which is what it means to be a Rotarian. This is a code of conduct and behavior in the workplace and in our life. Savi said building personal relationships with other Rotarians is key to diversity, which translates into the “Service Above Self” approach investing time in our communities and internationally.

Savi personalized this meeting by asking our Vandenberg Village club members why they joined. Some of the reasons were: When missing a local meeting, make-ups can be accomplished by visiting another club locally, or out of town is a good way to connect with other Rotarians and learn what they do. Others said the friendships and fellowship are important. One Rotarian enjoys visiting and international country annually, to help build schools with other club Rotarians. Each professional Rotarian has its own skills sets which add value to the club where we can work on projects and serve our community.

The Rotary Club of Vandenberg Village and many guests in attendance thanked Savi for an informative talk.

Our club is always searching for working or retired professionals who would be interested in joining Rotary or to pay us a visit.
