The Rotary Club of Vandenberg held their 3rd club assembly at this morning’s meeting. President Earl Murray Jr. facilitated this effort.

A club assembly is a meeting that all members attend to discuss club programs and activities. Most clubs hold four to six assemblies per year. Assemblies allow members to. Brainstorm ideas for projects and activities. Set goals and develop action plans using the Club Leadership Plan.
Because our club is comprised of 14 members, 11 were present to share in this important brainstorming session to address ways to continue to improve as a club. Currently this “small yet might club” is doing well with great guest speaker programs, service projects, and coming together as leaders with experience in our respected fields. The club members were asked how we are doing and what can we improve on moving forward.

Service Projects is an area we are looking at to develop some new ones in our community. The goal is looking for ways to make a difference in our community and around the world.

Membership is an area we would like to see additional members join our club. We are always open to having leaders in the community request to visit our club. Are you an established professional who wants to make positive changes in your community and the world? Our club members are dedicated people who share a passion for community service and friendship. Becoming a Rotarian connects you with a diverse group who share your drive to give back. If you are a leader interested in visiting our club, you can go to our website at http://www.vvrotary.org/, click on the “About Us” link scroll down at the top, and then contact. You can also contact Earl Murray Jr. directly at emj319@gmail.com if you would like to visit us.

Public Relations and Branding is areas of focus at our club as we continue to use the technological resources available for visibility of our club and what we stand for. We have a Face book page and our Club runner website (http://www.vvrotary.org/). Our club has always had great guest speakers and we are working toward making Service Projects a part of our brand.

The Rotary Foundation transforms your gifts into projects that change lives both close to home and around the world. As the charitable arm of Rotary, we tap into a global network of Rotarians who invest their time, money, and expertise into our priorities, such as eradicating polio and promoting peace. Foundation grants empower Rotarians to approach challenges such as poverty, illiteracy, and malnutrition with sustainable solutions that leave a lasting impact. Our club does have annual International project in Guatemala where three Rotarians work on building classrooms. We are working on other ways to contribute to the foundation.

The 3rd club assembly was very successful and a big thank you to our club members for sharing their ideas and feedback in how we can move forward as a great small Rotary club!
